2019 Annual Session Conference

The Future of Interdisciplinary Esthetic Dentistry: Digitally Beginning with the End in Mind

May 5, 2019 8:00am ‐ May 5, 2019 8:30am

Description

Traditionally, complex esthetic cases have been difficult for the Interdisciplinary Team to diagnose and plan; and it has been even more problematic for the patient to understand and accept the proposed treatment. This is where a digital patient-centered design approach, utilizing modern technology, can be very powerful at overcoming these inherent problems. By properly integrating CBCTs, intraoral scanning and photography/videography with planning software, esthetic motivational mockups can be developed by the team, and then accepted by the patient, to enable precise reverse treatment planning and implementation of the exact procedures needed during the entire interdisciplinary process. This session will illustrate the tremendous value of this approach to both the providers and the patient.

Learning Objectives:

  • Evaluate the benefits of an "esthetic motivational mockup".
  • Appreciate the value of "digital reverse treatment planning".
  • Conceptualize the digital planning workflow.
