Interdisciplinary Treatment for Mutilated Dentitions with Mini-implants, Dental implants and Autotransplants

Description

Mutilated dentition is one of the most difficult situations in orthodontic practices. Lack of posterior support and appropriate anchorage unit, loss of vertical dimensions, ill-fitted prosthesis, endodontic involvement, compromised periodontal conditions are all the most common factors contributing to the mutilated dentitions. The treatment for the mutilated dentition needs not only comprehensive orthodontic treatment, but also needs considerate support from various specialties of dentistry. Besides thorough communication, a comprehensive treatment plan is the key to the final success. Mini-implants, dental implants and even autotransplants are all important tools for full mouth rehabilitations of the mutilated dentitions.
