Arch Form: The Forgotten Factor in Finishing

May 6, 2019 9:10am ‐ May 6, 2019 9:40am

Description

Finishing starts at the beginning of treatment when we plan our treatment objectives, mechanics, and how to stay on "track". With the myriad of details to think about, arch form is often overlooked, as it is conveniently provided to us in preformed arch wires. This lecture will discuss the choices, review some of the evidence, and provide a method to select and maintain the appropriate arch form on an individualized basis.

Learning Objectives:

  • Evaluate the importance of arch form.
  • Select an appropriate arch form for a specific patient.
  • Maintain that arch form throughout treatment.
