Description
Distraction osteogenesis has traditionally been utilized to lengthen and/or enlarge structures. Precision with this technique is often challenging. In this presentation, we will discuss patients that require large magnitude skeletal and soft tissue correction, with significant precision requirements.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify patients that are/are not candidates for distraction osteogenesis.
- Recognize patients that require more significant precision when considering distraction as a surgical/orthodontic option.
- Recognize the importance of meticulous monitoring of the distraction patient.
