Kevin O'Brien BDS, MSc, D.Orth, PhD

Dr. O’Brien was appointed professor of orthodontics at the University of Manchester in 1996. He has held posts in the USA, was dean of Manchester Dental School 2004-2007 and associate dean of the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences 2007-2010. He was chair of the General Dental Council 2011-2013. He has published over 90 scientific papers, mostly in the American Journal of Orthodontics. Committed to teaching and research, he has obtained €7m external research funding. He has given the Northcroft Memorial and Ballard Lectures for the British Orthodontic Society and has been awarded the Turpin, Dewel and Jarabak awards by the American Association of Orthodontists.
